amsterdam

now here a few days in the uber-tolerant dutch city, i’ve checked out a great museum (and bought a pass for museum viewing to my heart’s content), seen a play, almost all in dutch, had fine cheeses, yogurts, and heineken, rode the tram strolled through the market, painted and sanded plenty of door jambs, frequented a local turkish restaurant and almost gotten over a cold.

much more to see and do, but i imagine three months will seem like three weeks when flying back to the USA.

autos are especially interesting, all manner of scooters, cycles, micro minis, and sporty cars, even big-wheeled crane trucks zipping down the motorway…
saw a great vintage beemer cycle and plenty of new bmws as well gracing the sidewalks.

  1. hey lovechud. keep up with the posts. I'm glad i can hear about your trip. Y'know I had the exact same fascination with oggling all the vehicles in Japan. It was like being in one of those Richard Scary novels with all the crazy modes of transportation - but no Goldbug to spot. Hope you have fun in between the sanding/painting and reconstruction that you so enjoy. I wouldn't mind bending nails and dropping two by fours on your feet at this very moment. ah well. Back to tending to my anti-tan.

  2. How's the tounge doing? Sounds soo great. It's so funny, I have one friend just got back from Japan, one that just got back from Italy, one that is going to Peru in a week, a friend who is spending 3 weeks in Europe... And I have weeks and weeks of 8X8 cubical dwelling to look forward to. YOU BASTARDS! Envy is OK, right? Well you sir, glad you are having a great time. Make sure and post often , like every day if possible. It will be the next best thing to being there. Travel is such a good thing. Better quit my job tomorrow.
