mushroom mouse haven

just when i thought that i’d be stuck renting overpriced and separate living and working spaces, an opportunity arose with a well-timed phonecall to a friend of a friend. rough though the mushroom barn might be, the raw space offers a generous amount of room for work and rest.

mice scurry to new corners as i heft boxes, lamps, shelves, lumber, and all random bits and place them on floor-to-ceiling racks that once held pallets of fungi. plenty of work ahead, i am looking forward to the non-stop labor that will eventually produce my abode.

a bit knackered this weekend from moving other people’s stuff, but the building zone is clear and framing can commence. pictures will be forthcoming.
yah mule!

  1. You want to talk knackered? You should see the horse-shoe pits at the nearby public park.

  2. I'm glad to see you're getting into a live/work space. I hope it's not too much work but I really don't have any idea what sort of environment a mushroom barn is like. I'm guessing very little sunlight, or perhaps this is a mushroom drying space instead of a mushroom growing space. I definitely need some pictures. My quick internet searches didn't give me very useful information. Maybe you've got big transformations for this place ahead, but I hope you're not always working on spaces instead of doing your work in them. Keep a close watch on any allergies before you get too far along in the renovations.
